Well, I’ve gained and lost 15 pounds twice since the year started! What the hell!?! Many people say keeping excess weight off gets more difficult as you get older, but I’m finding that losing weight in general gets a whole lout harder as well.

Now, I don’t want to sound like an old geezer here - I’m only in my early thirties – but I can definitely tell that it’s no longer the game it used to be 10 to 15 ago. Rewinding back a decade or so I could easily stick to a diet plan for weeks – strictly. Nowadays, if I get past a couple days on a diet plan I consider myself doing pretty darn good.

So, what do we lose as we get older? Are we just more comfortable with ourselves that the weight loss isn’t (or doesn’t seem) as important to us? Or maybe as we get older we tend to think that impressing the opposite sex is more of how smart or successful one is rather than how many abdominal muscles are showing?

Maybe it’s a combination of lots of things… I’d like to hear some other thoughts on this as well.
