A lot of diet programs are not very compatible with the busy lifestyle of most people. With the average working person spending 8-10 hours a day outside of their home, having to conform to specific eating schedules and foods is not easily doable. Some diet programs are better than others. Here’s a quick look at three diet programs and their compatibility with a busy lifestyle.
Weight Watchers
This weight loss program has been around for many years and there have been many success stories. The program allows you to choose the foods you want to eat, so you have a decent amount of control over your weight loss.
The program works on a point system, that is, you to keep track of everything you eat, and based on your points, you can decide what you should and should not eat. Unfortunately, in order to be certain of your points, you have to measure everything. And it’s the constant journaling and measuring that does not make this a good program for people who are constantly on the go..
Adkins
The Adkins diet has also been around for a long time with many people that swear by it as the only way to lose weight. It’s basically a carbohydrate restrictive diet that does not require you to measure your food or keep an ongoing journal as long as you stay within the guidelines. This diet does seem to work well with busy people.
NutriSystem
The NutriSystem is a portion control diet program that allows you to purchase your meals already prepared; you just need to heat them up. There is no measuring or counting points, and the program includes every meal and snack you need to consume throughout the day. It’s also a more affordable alternative to some of the other programs that offer prepared meals (i.e. Jenny Craig). The pre-made meals also make the NutriSystem very easy to follow even with a busy lifestyle.
Each diet program has it pluses and minuses depending on your lifestyle and preferences. But keep in mind that when following a diet, it is hard enough to have to govern what type of food we eat. And adding more to our daily workload by following some strict regime only makes it more difficult, which makes us more likely to fall off the diet wagon. Pick your diet wisely.

To be honest, these big name diets never really did much for me. I found that I was able to control what I ate after creating a diet log and realized all the junk I put in my system.
