We hear about it all the time – do sit ups and you’ll lose that fat belly of yours, or walking will tighten up your thighs. People devote their entire work out plans around the idea that they can target certain areas of their body and sculpt it anyway they’d like. Well, this isn’t exactly the most accurate advice.

Look, weight loss comes from eating fewer calories than you burn throughout the day. Of course, doing special exercises (no matter what they target) will cause your body to burn more calories, and hence allow you to lose body fat. The problem is, the body fat lost isn’t going to be targeted to some specific area that you wish.
