For men living in the United States the average height and weight is:
Height: 5 feet 9 inches
Weight: 190 pounds
(Data gathered from the National Center for Health Statistics.)
See the height and weight chart below to see where you fall:

Ideal Height/Weight Chart (US Males)
Of course where ever you fall on the chart above doesn’t really tell you if you’re fat or not. That depends on how much muscle and fat you carry. This can vary quite a bit in men. For example, bodybuilders may find themselves way off this chart, yet they may carry less fat than most people on the chart. Everyone is unique.

All people are made up differently, even those that are the same height. A weight that might look over weight on one person can look just right or even under weight on another. There’s the frame size and muscle mass that is unique from individual to individual. There is no one size fits all, and that’s why there is a range of weight (low -to- high) for each height category.

Many of you have asked where you can get a copy of Atkin’s diet book so I thought I’d post this little trade secret I have for you…
Instead of going down to your local bookstore and spending in the neighborhood of $20 bucks take a look at the deals on eBay. It may be hard to believe, but you can get the same book for under $2. I even created a link at the bottom of this post that will take you to all the Dr. Atkins diet book deals available on eBay right now.

Anyone that’s ever been on a diet knows that you lose the most weight at the beginning of the diet program and you tend to lose less and less each week until you eventually hit a sticking point. This is the frustrating part. It’s frustrating because you’re sticking to your diet like glue only to see that same number on the scale each morning. Or worse, you may even find yourself gaining weight!

Call them prescription fat burners, prescription weight loss drugs or prescription diet pills; they’re all the same thing. They tend to make you lose weight and you need a Doctor’s prescription to get them. The fact that a Doctor has to sign for them gives many people the impression that these things are powerful. However, don’t let that fool you. These little pills are not magical and many of them come with a whole lot of precautions.

Well, I’m going to move into the more adult rated world today and discuss a common problem for us bigger folks - sex positions for fat people. I know, maybe there’s a more politically correct way to say it, but hey, who cares! You know what I’m talking about.
Being a women that has had an active sex life and tend to favor larger (huskier, but I know what you were thinking!) men. I can say that sex has always been a rather ‘give that position a try and see if it works’ kind of experience. Over the years we’ve definitely identified which ones work better than the others.

How many times have you heard of someone losing a bunch of weight on a very restrictive diet only to gain it all back plus a few extra pounds? It happens all the time. Some people continue this vicious cycle many times throughout their life. What the heck is the deal?
Well, the deal is this! We all spend our lifetime training our bodies to be accustomed to eating certain foods and in certain quantities. This training is very difficult to break, and simply going on a diet for a couple months isn’t likely to do the trick, at all…

Knee pain is a very common problem for people that are overweight. This is especially true for people over the age of 40. Much of this is due to the fact that the knees are put under an enormous amount of stress for each step that we take. As each of our steps hit the ground we send a shockwave of stress up to our knee. This is due to our foot hitting the floor with the stress of our bodyweight behind it. The more overweight you are, that harder this shockwave is on your knees. How hard? Well, there is a mathematical explanation…
