Dieting sucks, really, it sucks. lol

 

I’ve learned a couple of tips lately that I’ve been putting to use. It’s too early to tell what, or if, these tips will pan out. But I have seen some friends that had some success at it, and best of all, these tips are painless (actually pleasurable to many) to implement.

 

What is it? Well, here they are:

 

1) Drink cold water. What? Yes, drinking ample amounts of cold (ice) water each day has been said to boost the metabolism and help the fat burning process. Another side affect of drinking plenty of cold water is that it lessens the hunger pains and tends to make you eat less.

 

Did I say painless? :)

 

2) Eat lots of spicy foods. Ok, this may be painful for the non-spicy crowd, but I love hot foods, and I know a lot of others do as well. I’m talking about adding hot peppers, salsa, souces, etc. to your favorite lower calorie foods. This has been said to have a metabolism boosting effect as well.

 

The neat thing about these 2 tips is that they work hand in hand with one another. That is, eating plenty of spicy (hot) foods will make you want to drink plenty of ice water. That sounds link an enjoyable way for me to boost my metabolism.

 

Ok, I don’t think this is going to help me lose 25 pounds in the next 2 months, but if it helps me lose 5 - 10 pounds I’ll be that much better off!
