However, if you are looking to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, then you should make it a habit to avoid this type of food no matter what form it comes in. The saturated fat that is found in fried food can be very damaging to your blood vessels as well as your arteries.
Tip #3: Don’t go to the grocery store when you are hungry! Though this may sound silly, if you go to the grocery store hungry you will most likely give in to some of your cravings. It is good to eat a light snack at home before going, and make a list of the foods you want to get before you leave. While making the list you should only put food that is healthy on there, and resist any cravings for sugar, chocolate, etc. Fruit is a great thing to buy since it has the flavor of a dessert without the calories. Once the healthy list is complete, the only thing left to do is go to the grocery and stick to it! If you take these simple steps then you should end up in a “no fail” eating environment at home.
Tip #4: Stay active! (Of course, with your Doctor’s consent). You should make it a point to do some physical activity that gets your heart going at least once a day. The activity can be anything you enjoy doing such as basketball, running, or even jump roping. You are encouraged to switch up the activity every now and then, just so the routine doesn’t become repetitive and boring. You may even find that you really enjoy an activity you never even thought of doing before. One day you can go out for a quick jog around the block, and the next you can play tennis with some friends. Either way, you are out getting your heart rate up and staying in shape.
Tip #5: Find support! Finding success in this journey can come easier if you surround yourself with supportive people. It can be your family, friends, or even an online community. Just make sure that they have a positive attitude and encourage you to do the right thing to stay on track. Loved ones are often great support, but you should not limit yourself to this. The more the merrier is certainly a true statement in this case!
